Murph Dykes brings over four decades of experience in the flooring and building industry, with a career that spans owning and managing flooring establishments in Maryland and Texas. From 2002 to 2017, he served as the General Manager of Peeks Flooring in Dallas, overseeing eight locations and helping the company become one of the highest‑rated flooring providers in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Under his leadership, Peeks delivered premium flooring, countertops, and installation services while maintaining a reputation for quality and customer trust.
Murph has always been driven by innovation. In 2005, he purchased his first infrared camera and became a Level I Certified Thermographer—the first individual in the United States certified specifically to diagnose flooring system failures using infrared technology. Over the next twelve years, he used thermography to identify moisture issues and structural causes totaling more than $2.5 million in documented findings.
His interest in advanced imaging expanded beyond buildings. In 2010, Murph and his son, Dustin, were trained in equine and canine thermography by Dr. Donna Harper, a pioneer in the use of infrared for evaluating farm animals. This training opened the door to a new dimension of service: non‑invasive thermal imaging for horses, dogs, and livestock.
After resigning from Peeks in 2017, Murph transitioned into full‑time diagnostics as a Certified Flooring Inspector, while continuing to perform animal scans for clients across Texas. By 2025, demand for animal imaging had grown so significantly that 4 Legged Thermal Imaging became a dedicated branch of the business.
Today, Murph holds certifications in Building Science Thermography, Certified Flooring Inspection, and Equine/Canine Thermal Imaging. His decades of hands‑on experience, combined with cutting‑edge infrared technology, allow him to deliver precise, reliable, and actionable imaging for homes, businesses, veterinarians, trainers, and animal owners.
